Most politically minded Coloradans would agree that Denver Mayor and Democratic gubernatorial candidate John Hickenlooper has released the funniest commercials of this election cycle, but U.S. Senator Michael Bennet’s campaign seems to be finally hinting at a more overt sense of humor—as well as some technological savvy. The Democrat has dedicated a Halloween-themed website to his main challenger, Republican Ken Buck, dubbed the “House of Horrors.” Bennet’s campaign obviously hopes the interactive site, which includes videos of Buck’s campaign gaffes, goes viral, with buttons for Facebook and Twitter sharing.
Meanwhile, Colorado Secretary of State Bernie Beuscher has turned to the online world to advertise his re-election campaign, putting money he’d planned to invest in Facebook advertising toward the customizable music-streaming website Pandora instead, reports Westword, which points out that Buescher’s campaign was told the web company had never before worked with a political campaign from Colorado. And unless you’re among the few Pandora users who pay $36 a year for the ad-free version, you’ll have to listen to those commercials.
