Ah, to be young and an amazing golfer. Such is the life of Calli Ringsby, a freshman at Cherry Creek High School. Coach Bob Kubiak had heard about her talent, but he finally witnessed it firsthand when Ringsby dominated Monday’s Ashley Forey Memorial Golf Tournament (Denver Post). Ringsby’s 1-over-par got her a two-stroke win over three other girls, including the defending Class 5A state champion Somin Lee of Overland High School.

If you want to keep up with kids like Ringsby, head to Vail where Dr. Joel Dekanich, founder of the Vail Integrative Medical Group, is hosting a four-week golf training series starting this Thursday (Vail Daily). The program will help golfers with stability, balance, flexibility, postural control, and the development of power. If you can get in shape fast, the Can Do Multiple Sclerosis Jimmie Heuga Memorial Golf Tournament takes place June 5 and 6 in Edwards. Your $375 entry fee ($1,400 per foursome) will benefit the Can Do MS’s lifestyle empowerment program (Vail Daily).
