Tired of countless trips to the grocery store? You can change your MO by signing up for Community Supported Agriculture (CSA). While there are more than a hundred options across the state, one of my favorites is something just a little bit different: Door to Door Organics. Simply fill out an online registration form, and you’re guaranteed weekly or bi-weekly deliveries of top-quality organic products gathered, whenever possible, from a farmer near you. (Unlike CSAs, Door to Door doesn’t require a set commitment and allows subsitutions within orders.)

The customized box that arrives on your doorstep will include different items with each delivery, depending on which service you select. But be on the lookout for gourmet potatoes from Strohauer Farms in La Salle, organic vegetables from Full Circle Farms in Longmont, plump stone fruits from First Fruits Organic Farms in Paonia, and 100 percent natural, grass-fed beef from Blue Range Ranch in Saguache.

You can further personalize your deliveries by adding individual products to your order, such as Grampa’s Gourmet Honey, Conscious Coffees, or Vietnamese Saigon Cinnamon from Savory Spice Shop.

Your best bet, however, is the Local Farm Box (available June through September), which includes all Colorado-grown produce.

Tip: Need recipe ideas for your fresh produce? Check Door to Door’s website for suggestions like this week’s grilled corn with honey-ancho-chile butter, a great way to wow everyone at the next neighborhood barbecue.
