Tres Chic

Crepes 'n Crepes

|

If I were to sum up the beauty of happy hour at Crêpes ’n Crêpes, a French crêperie with locations in Cherry Creek and downtown, it would be with one word, or, more accurately, one number: $41.

For that, my family of three had five dishes and two glasses of wine (including tax and tip) at happy hour. And it’s not like we skimped. We indulged in delicate $3 to $5 crêpes filled with ham and gooey Swiss cheese; an earthy, robust ratatouille; and chicken with wild mushrooms in a silky white wine cream sauce with Emmentaler cheese. For dessert we savored one thin pancake with melted Nutella and another crammed with fresh blueberries and bananas.

Though slightly smaller than the usual servings—happy hour crêpes are roughly a third of the usual size—they’re still ample. And you still get the chewy, nutty crust that forms thanks to blazing hot iron griddles, the quality produce and meat, and the quick, friendly service. Aside from the smaller size and selection (a dozen crêpes to choose from, as opposed to the 40-plus on the full menu), this is still food instilled with skill and pride. And to that, we can only lift our (happy-hour) glass of wine. Happy Hour: Tuesday to Friday, 4 to 6 p.m., Tuesday to Sunday, 9 to 10 p.m. 2816 E. Third Ave., 303-320-4184 and 1512 Larimer St., 303-534-1620, crepesncrepes.com
