Peanut butter, almond butter, chocolate hazelnut butter: Yes, I have all three of these in my cupboard at any given time. I dabble between brands (right now I’m loving Earth Balance‘s crunchy peanut butter), but I often fall back on Justin’s. I like the creamy, satisfying texture of the all-natural spreads and the fact that the company germinated in Boulder resident Justin Gold‘s home kitchen.

All this is to say that when I saw Justin’s peanut butter cups for sale at Marczyk Fine Foods, I immediately grabbed packets of both the milk chocolate and the dark chocolate. I barely made it home before ripping into them and discovering what might be the perfect PB treat. Justin’s iconic peanut butter is smooth and dense, and the chocolate shells aren’t cloyingly sweet like a Reese’s. Of the two varieties, I prefer the dark chocolate for the more profound, slightly bitter flavor.

Bonus: The chocolate in both cups is organic and fair trade.
