The Ballpark neighborhood scored another hit this holiday season by adding a value-driven gastropub to its already strong lineup of dining options. Ignite! Fire-Crafted Food + Rooftop Bar, the newest venture from Frank Day, Kevin Brown, and J. Allen Adams of Concept Restaurants Inc., opened just before New Year’s Eve next to Trillium.

Expect easy-on-the-pocketbook dinner entrées such as seafood-packed cioppino or steak and herbed frites, both for $15.99. Happy hour offers extra value with an extensive menu of small plates—don’t miss the Kobe sliders with roasted jalapeño aïoli and Gorgonzola or the insanely delicious Man Candy (pictured), house-made bacon with honey sweetness, moderate smoke, and a hint of heat. There’s also a nice selection of affordable wines by the glass and an innovative list of cocktails. Bacon lovers should sip a Whiskey Before Breakfast (bacon-infused bourbon whiskey, Bols Butterscotch Schnapps, and a cajeta rim).
