From the opening of Prana last month to Lululemon’s recent relocation, women’s workout wear is having an action-packed summer in Cherry Creek North. But it’s the launch of Gap’s Athleta in the Cherry Creek Shopping Center that’s the latest focus. Carrying everything from ski and snowboard gear to yoga and golf wear, Athleta features colorful sport apparel that still has all of the technical and functional appeal of more serious lines. One of our favorite workout pieces is the Zip Line Tank (shown above in hibiscus heather) with its built-in support and Pilayo® fabric, which wicks, breathes, and even lends UPF 50+ protection.

For those fashionistas looking to purge their closets and have their 15 minutes of fame at the same time, head downtown to the Denver Pavilions for the filming of the new summer reality show Style Strike. Hosted weekly by I Heart Denver owner Samuel Schimek, audience members are asked to bring old accessories they’d like to strike from their wardrobes (see the Pavilions website for a full listing of accessories being filmed by week) and have updated. If you’re one of two lucky people chosen, you’ll receive a new on-trend accessory—plus gift cards and prizes will be given out to the crowd during taping. The edited episodes will be aired on Denver Pavilions’ YouTube channel and Facebook page, as well as Vista TV, the following Wednesday after filming.

DETAILS: Films every Wednesday, July 11 through August 15, from noon–1 p.m. in the Pavilions plaza on the 16th Street Mall
