The kids at Roundup River Ranch in Avon aren’t your average campers. All of the Roundup attendees (ages seven to 17) have chronic or life-threatening illnesses, but thanks to specially designed facilities and medical care from some of the region’s top pediatricians, they can experience one of the staples of childhood for a week each summer—for no charge. This month, family members of campers with cancer or epilepsy can join the fun during the camp’s two free Fall Family Weekends (September 7–9 and 14–16).
