Like many Colorado-based jewelers, sisters and partners Shawn Hecox and Samantha Hitchcock are inspired by the natural beauty of our state and its laid-back lifestyle. But the Woods—the name of their Denver- and Aspen-based fine jewelry line—transcends local appeal: It’s carried in top specialty boutiques across the country and has even graced the red carpet at the Council of Fashion Designers of America/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards.

Founded in 2005, the Woods combines diamonds with organic elements such as ebony beads and fossilized ivory for a playful study in contrasts. The line’s hip-yet-refined aesthetic and diverse influences (Native American culture and the surfing scene, for instance) has caught the attention of the fashion “It” crowd: Starting with last year’s Resort collection, prominent designer Chris Benz enlisted the duo to create pieces for all of his runway shows. Locally, jewelry hunters can look forward to bright druzy stone pieces that will launch at Bloom in Cherry Creek North this month. thewoodsfinejewelry.com
