For anyone who’s seen the University of Denver campus recently, the area around the Daniel L. Ritchie Center for Sports and Wellness looks like a disaster area. Because of Wednesday’s presidential debate, parking lots will shut down, traffic will back up, and military helicopters will fly overhead.

And now the rest of us will feel the pain. Beginning at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Interstate 25 will be closed for security reasons in both directions between Santa Fe Drive and Hampden Avenue. The closure will last five hours, which means that people downtown might have to consider alternate routes—or a different mode of transportation—to get home.

Your best bet? Take the light rail (here’s the schedule and fares) or leave work early. That’ll give you more time to prep for watching the debates at home with our 5280 Debate Bingo cards.
