If you have ever visited Thailand, you will recognize the authenticity of Mali Thai Cuisine. Satita Malithong, a Bangkok native, opened her restaurant in the Tech Center area just after Labor Day. With the help of top toque Napha Polawat (another Thai native), Malithong has captured the flavors of Bangkok in a value-laden menu of noodles, soups, salads, stir-fries, fried rice, curries, and desserts.

Many of the main dishes lean heavily on Thai fish sauce. Although this may be off-putting to some western palates, the resulting flavors resonate purity. Meanwhile, heat levels are adjustable. Mild, moderate, and Thai spicy (read: searing) are all balanced to offer the right amount of fire without covering up the essential flavors of the ingredients.

Start with the refreshing mango salad with strips of fruit, mint, cilantro, tomato, scallions, roasted cashews, and a sweet lime vinaigrette that’s touched with Thai chiles. Move next to the made-to-order Pad Thai, or rich Panang curry, and finish with a fried banana topped with homemade coconut ice cream.
