I’ve long been a fan of using furniture outside the rooms in which the pieces were meant to be used. For example, check out this antique dresser that doubles as a kitchen island, and this old door reincarnated as a desk.

Recently, I found another item that could be used in virtually any room rather than being relegated to a bedroom: Elemental Living‘s Veridis Dresser. I’ve got my eye on the walnut with white finish (pictured) to keep my living room organized—but you can create your own customized look by choosing from three wood finishes and six drawer colors. It would also work nicely in a kid’s room (especially the white oak with blue drawers for a baby boy).

The dressers come in three sizes, and range in price from $2,000 to $4,000. Elemental Living is a Denver-based company founded by architect Jonathan Coppin, who prides himself on quality craftsmanship with an environmentally-conscious focus. Find his designs at Boulder’s Factory Made or online at elemental-living.com.
