One of the biggest trends in men’s grooming is a push toward providing guys all the services women enjoy, but with a true masculine edge (goodbye, Mr. Metrosexual). Enter MENSDEPT, the brainchild of David Raccuglia (founder of American Crew) and partner Kurt Kueffner. The aim is twofold: to offer guys innovative styling products and to provide a modern grooming environment that recalls the communal spirit of traditional barbershops.

The MENSDEPT national flagship is opening in Denver on Saturday inside Matthew Morris Salon and Skincare. Morris—consistently named one of the city’s top hair stylists, as well as being a New York City Fashion Week backstage regular—says the salon will offer a full concierge list of services, ranging from haircuts (starting at $30 for the Basic) and custom color to facial grooming and even personal amenities such as wardrobe styling.

Of course, guys will also be able to pick up the innovative MENSDEPT product line. Morris’ star product is Microtech, a “simple and foolproof” styling cream that can be used sparingly for a little hold and soft finish or generously for a more groomed look.

Details: Join Morris and 5280 Magazine this Saturday, April 27 for the launch party and runway show. Tickets are $50. 13 S. Broadway, 303-715-4673, mensdept.eventbrite.com
