One of Colorado’s most precious attributes—its 14.5 million acres of national forest—is constantly threatened by fire, climate change, and human recklessness. The National Forest Foundation (NFF) seeks to repair damaged forestland with its Treasured Landscapes, Unforgettable Experiences campaign, a nationwide conservation, restoration, and public awareness initiative. Fourteen forests and grasslands are involved in the effort, including three locally: the San Isabel and Pike national forests and Camp Hale, a former military training site in the White River National Forest. Donate directly to the areas, search for volunteer opportunities, or organize your own conservation or cleanup event at nationalforests.org.
