“We didn’t get into food per se really until September,” explains Ryan Lawhon, one half of California’s indie-duo Pacific Air. “We were recording in New York and our producer made it a point every single day to take us to a new restaurant.” Now, Ryan and his brother Taylor, tour cities by taste, gravitating towards restaurants resembling those of David Chang’s Momofuku empire. Although they didn’t try Uncle or Bones (both local noodle bars) while in town for a show at Larimer Lounge, the duo did make it to Linger in LoHi. There, Ryan opted for the chicken b’stilla, while Taylor ordered the masala dosa (one of our favorite dishes). The two described their meal as “intense,” “intriguing,” and “really good.”

Later, before the Lawhons went on stage, they pulled up to the Larimer Lounge’s bar, pictured, to sample some local brews. “What’s good?” Ryan asked the bartender. He settled on (with a little encouragement from me) an Oskar Blues Mama’s Little Yella Pils.
