Jesse Crock fits the bill of a “Colorado guy.” Born and raised in Golden (where he still lives), the 31-year-old rock climbs, mountain bikes, and knows a good microbrew when he tastes it. (He’s a regular at Mountain Toad Brewing in town, where he recently completed an outdoor mural.) Perhaps that’s why his acrylic paintings so accurately depict the Colorado experience: the bright colors, the mountain subjects, the in-the-moment vibe. It’s all just so… Colorado. It’s immediately evident that Crock loves where he lives. It’s why he chose to be an art teacher in his hometown—and it’s why we’re coveting his work for our living room walls.

On View: Meet Crock—and perhaps buy one of his odes to the Centennial State—at the Golden Fine Arts Festival, Saturday, August 17 and Sunday, August 18.

Before You Go: Hear Crock speak about his inspiration and see more of his work in the video below.
