It’s a new season. Get out there and start it off right with these feel-good events.

Get Dirty: Lace up your boots, grab your shovel, and help Boulder recover from the flood. Nicknamed the “Mudslingers,” the community organized group has been helping city works shovel, sweep, and scrape dirt off streets, sidewalks, and bike paths. Don’t have time to sling some mud? Monetary donations help as well.

Walk: Bring the entire family, even the dog, and take a stroll through Westlands Park this Saturday. This 3K dog walk, Bark for Art, is complete with art, live art demos, and live music, and helps support local art organizations through events and programs. Make sure to dress up your pup and enter him or her in the doggy costume contest and see a demonstration from the Arapahoe Country K9 unit.

Meet Your Neighbors: In an effort to bring neighborhoods together, this block party is celebrating the building of new streets being completed this Sunday, the 29th. Local elected officials will be present at this ribbon cutting, which will join Stapleton and Aurora with new streets, and feature face painting, free food, and more.

Kick Off Fall: Get in the fall spirit at the Giant Pumpkin Festival on the 29th. A pumpkin weigh off with pumpkins tipping the scales at a half-ton, a giant straw maze, and plenty of ghosts and ghouls is a fun way to kick off the new season. Bring canned food donations to help out St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
