There comes a moment in everyone’s life when that $40 Ikea print of Audrey Hepburn no longer qualifies as appropriate wall art. For such times, there’s the Mizel Museum’s new Denver Collects program. At just $18 each, the four sessions still cost less than a mass-produced reproduction and introduce budding collectors to the process of acquiring art, whether they’re making that first big purchase or want to expand an already existing suite. (Although it’s a museum focused on Jewish culture, Collects is open to all and extends beyond Jewish art.) Participants visit a private home, gallery, or artist’s studio to learn firsthand how to curate a coordinated collection. On January 8, that means hearing from Ivar Zeile, owner of contemporary hot spot Plus Gallery. Each session is limited to 60 people, so sign up soon. Your walls will thank you. mizelmuseum.org
