Where: Colorado knows all too well the devastation that a wildfire can leave behind. However, the Centennial State also knows how to rebuild, which is exactly what happened after the Royal Gorge Fire destroyed much of the area’s attractions on June 11, 2013.

Less than a year later, the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park reopened on March 15. Guided tours will whisk you through the area as it is being rebuilt and over the suspension bridge. We haven’t made it back this year, yet, but the good news made us sort through old photographs to find this picture of an old speed limit sign.
