The Mile High City has a chance to show off its best to Republicans today as officials from the party’s national committee drop by to check out venues and amenities ahead of the GOP’s 2016 national convention.

Denver is among six finalists for the event, along with Cincinnati, Cleveland, Dallas, Kansas City, and Las Vegas. The Republican National Committee announced its finalists earlier this month when it scrapped Columbus, Ohio, and Phoenix from consideration. The convention’s host city will be announced either this summer or fall.

The Denver Post expects the RNC to visit the Pepsi Center, along with other venues and hotels, as well as ask for details on financing plans should Denver get the event. The committee will visit Vegas later this week, then will travel to the other cities later this month.
