For chips and dip fans, La Sandía’s fourth annual Guacamole Festival is worth seeking out. Until June 15, the Richard Sandoval restaurants (there’s one in Northfield and one in Park Meadows) offer a variety of guacamoles highlighting ingredients from specific regions of Mexico. Order the starter with infusions of flavor from the Yucatan, Baja, Pacifico, Norteno, and Sur regions. Taste them one at a time, or, do as I do, and choose the guacamole tostada sampler plate (pictured).

For the ideal summer combo, pair the Baja—freshly made guacamole topped with diced kiwi, strawberry, mango, jicama, chile arbol, and mint—with a tajîn-rimmed kiwi margarita or a tamarind agua fresca spiked with tequila blanco.

Tip: Stop by during happy hour, Monday through Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. when five bucks at the tequila bar buys you bottomless guacamole.
