Here are four ways to give back to mom—and moms across the state—in celebration of Mother’s Day this week.

Pillow talk: Searching for a gift for a new mother or mom-to-be? Head to any Babies “R” Us this month and purchase a Boppy nursing pillow. For every pillow bought, Boppy will donate five percent of its profits to the Nurse Family Partnership, which provides first-time moms in need with in-home nursing care from pregnancy until the child’s second birthday.

Dinner time: Treat mom to a pre-Mother’s Day meal prepared by Denver’s top female chefs, including Jennifer Jasinski (Rioja, Euclid Hall, Bistro Vendome) and Samm Sherman (Root Down, Linger) during WomenCook! at Temple Emanuel. Sample indulgent appetizers in support of Work Options for Women, a nonprofit that connects women living in poverty with jobs in the restaurant industry. Mon, 6 p.m.; 51 Grape St.

Cheers to Mom: A safe bet on Mother’s Day is brunch and libations. At Ability Connection Colorado‘s Mother’s Tea celebration, toast to six community-nominated Denver moms who work to provide a positive environment for their children with special needs. Enjoy a champagne reception, lunch, ballroom dancing, and a fashion show. Sat, 10:30 a.m., Westin Denver Downtown

Art smarts: Let mom show her creative side at the annual Art for Life event at Abend Gallery. View the works of more than 100 local and national artists, satisfy your appetite with hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and cocktails, and place a bid on your favorite piece of artwork at a silent auction. Proceeds benefit Project Angel Heart, a Denver-based program that delivers wholesome meals to those living with life-threatening illnesses. Fri, 6:30 p.m.; 2260 E. Colfax Ave.
