Cupcakes

When Church of Cupcakes closed its retail shop in February, we thought our hopes of nabbing one more Bees Knees cupcake were dashed. Lucky for us, Church’s founder Porsche Lovely continues to lead us into temptation with both a new special-order location at 3462 Larimer Street and her cupcake-totting tricycle. Expect the same sinfully good flavors, such as Devil’s Food and Rapture Raspberry.

Ice Cream Sandwiches

Former engineer Pete Bredemann’s quest to develop the ideal ice cream sandwich took him three years. The result is Peteybird: hand-scooped ice cream treats in flavors both traditional (chocolate chip and vanilla) and wacky (lemon zest and mint avocado). Be on the lookout for the Peteybird bikes—or keep tabs on their whereabouts via Twitter (@enjoypeteybird).

Pie

A converted Airstream turned bustling pie shop? That’s right. Shauna Lott’s creation, the Long I Pie Shop (pictured), turns out a number of baked treats: Look for classics like Palisade peach and strawberry rhubarb, as well as unique flavors, such as the Honey Flower with salted lavender-honey custard. Lott also plans to hire at-risk youth to give them on-the-job training—which makes the pies doubly sweet.

Panna Cotta

The ice cream man has nothing on the Panna Cotta Peddler. Lara Galante’s creamy, refreshing panna cotta, in sophisticated flavors fromdark chocolate sea salt to lemon rosemary, are kept cool in the portable refrigerator. This year, look for her tricycle at the 32nd Avenue Farmers’ Market (instead of the South Pearl Street Market). You’ll know you’re in the right place when you spot Galante’s red umbrella.
