Got a need for speed? Here’s where you can race and watch in Colorado.

Where to Race

Bandimere Speedways Test Nights: Every Wednesday in the summer, take your car to the drag racing track. (It’s fun in any car—heck, take the minivan.) The Colorado State Patrol’s “Responsible Speed” Test Nights are an effort to curb street racing. Watch the countdown and hit the gas.

Unser Racing: This go-kart racing is the real deal. With a quarter-mile indoor track and karts reaching speeds of 50 MPH, you’ll whip around the curves and pass unsuspecting drivers. If you’d prefer to just watch the kids race, head to the Trackside Tavern.

Adventure Golf and Raceway: With NASCAR themed go-karts and bumper cars, this is a fun family option. After 18 holes of mini-golf, jump on the track. The venue also offers two-person cars for those with small children.

Heritage Square: The Amusement Park at Heritage Square has a Junior Track specifically for kids. With other options for adults, everyone can enjoy the cruise, along with the park’s other attractions.

Where to Watch

Bandimere Speedway: Take in a drag race in Morrison. You’ll find “funny cars,” as well jet engine-propelled machines, whipping down the track at speeds more than 100 MPH.

Pikes Peak International Raceway: This premier Colorado Springs racetrack is open to professional and amateur drivers and stages demonstrations and events all summer long.

Colorado National Speedway: Just 30 minutes from Denver, this NASCAR track offers a host of events throughout the summer. Checking out the different styles of vehicles and artwork are reason enough to go.
