Today, Amelia Earhart, the pilot and former Denver television personality whom I profiled last year, will complete the ninth leg of an around-the-world flight that’s already taken her from Colorado to Senegal.

When Earhart finishes her 24,300-mile journey, which should take 10 more days to complete, the 31-year-old will be the youngest woman to circumnavigate the globe in a single-engine plane. (She’s flying with a co-pilot in a Pilatus PC-12NG.)

Earhart—who discovered she wasn’t related to her namesake while I was reporting my story on her—wants to use the flight to encourage others to pursue their dreams. You can follow her progress here or on her Twitter account at @Amelia_Earhart.
