About a decade ago, local developers began to piece together the Union Station redevelopment project. The Station officially opened at the end of last month, and now one of the lead developers on the decade-long project, East West Partners, announced it has purchased the final parcel surrounding the iconic train station: a one-acre spot located at 17th and Wewatta Street.

East West paid $10 million for the land, which is the fifth and final purchase the developers had agreed to make as part of a deal with the Regional Transportation District. East West has not said what it plans to build at this particular location, but is considering a hotel, office space, and residential options.

“We’ve been proud to be a part of the renaissance of this area of downtown for years and are excited to be bringing another project to life in Denver’s hottest neighborhood,” Mark Smith, principal at East West Partners, said in a statement.
