Man on the Move

Fashionable activewear isn’t just for women anymore.

By |

In our fit city, many women have (cute) workout wardrobes that practically dwarf—or, at times, take the place of—their “regular” clothing collections. Men, though, haven’t had quite the same set of options—until now. Denver’s four-year-old Soybu, which previously focused on women’s lifestyle-meets-active apparel, is launching its first line of chic men’s activewear this month with six pieces. The shorts, pants, and long- and short-sleeve tops merge performance—moisture-wicking fabric, flat seams—with familiar yet fun hues and subtle design details. (Read: He won’t be embarrassed to wear them.) When my fiancé put the Samurai shorts ($54) and Kinetic short-sleeve shirt ($44) to the test, the breathability and streamlined pockets (a must-have, according to Soybu’s market research) won him over. I loved the top’s light blue color (one of four options) and mesh detailing—and the fact that I can now throw away his ratty college T-shirts. 2500 E.
