For those Colorado mom aren’t ready to let their kids have all the fun, here are two activities to help us stretch our right-brain muscles.

Get Crafty: Glassateria

This Santa Fe art district stop will take your summer craft project to display-worthy coffee table status. If the idea of working with glass sounds like it takes major skill that could give you more than a paper cut, rest easy: The three-month old studio welcomes novice glass crafters and experts alike. How it works: You pick the project, glass, and colors, and get to work—whether it’s on a coaster or a set of dishes. Owner Sheila Hydle, who only began working with glass three years ago, forces her clients to turn off the “Is it perfect?” voice in their brains and just go for it. She’ll give you the rundown on how to score and break the glass into manageable pieces without losing a digit. When your masterpiece is done, Hydle fires it in the kiln and has it ready for pickup about a week later. She says when you see the finished product, you’ll finally stop saying, “I’m just not that creative.” Projects start at around $20; glassateria.com

Camp It: Vela Adventures

Score an all-girl adventure—and still be back in time to pick up the kids from day camp—with Vela Adventures. The year-old organization pairs adrenaline-rich activities such as kayaking, climbing, stand-up paddleboarding, and more with mellower options such as yoga, spa treatments, and wine tastings. Lunch, snacks, beverages, and even sunscreen are provided; all you have do to is show up. And since most of Vela’s outings take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and are within an hour of Denver, you’ll still be home in time to clean up before you have to collect the kids. $140 to $150; velaadventures.com
