Politics and beer collide in Hop the Vote, a friendly competiton pitting members of Colorado’s Senate and House of Representatives against each other in a brew-off. Each legislative body created an original beer at a local brewery: the Senators brewed “Upper Chamber Fresh Hop Ale” at Dry Dock Brewing Co. and House members created “Representative Saison” at Denver Beer Co. The public has the opportunity to pick their favorite during this year’s Great American Beer Festival. Voting is open October 2-4 and the winner will be announced October 4 at 5 p.m. If only all elections included craft beers.
