On Friday, September 26, Denver singer/songwriter Blake Brown will celebrate the release of his EP, Three*, with a show at the Hi-Dive.

The three-song EP, which features Brown’s backing band, the American Dust Choir, was recorded earlier this year in Nashville with producer Roger Moutenot, whose credits include Elvis Costello, T-Bone Burnett, Yo La Tengo, and many others. The show precedes the band’s slated October appearance at the CMJ Music Showcase in New York City. The 34-year-old festival features more than 1,300 new and emerging acts performing in more than 80 venues across the Big Apple and has served as a launching pad for bands such as Arcade Fire and Mumford & Sons, among others.

Local acts Patrick Dethlefs (one of our favorite local songsmiths) and Glowing House will join Brown for the Hi-Dive show. The openers take the stage at 9:30 p.m., and tickets are just $8, so head to the Hi-Dive to support some of Denver’s most promising young talents.
