“I got tired of sending people off [Larimer] Square when they asked where to go for [late-night] drinks and music,” says Brian Siffermann, owner of Corridor 44 and the soon-to-open Crimson Room. Interested in such a place himself, Siffermann decided to open a sophisticated lounge to accommodate a 35-and-up clientele seeking entertainment. The location: just a few doors down from Corridor 44 (look for the red door). Inspired by the exclusive Caribou Club in Aspen, the Crimson Room will demand a dress code and offer VIP memberships.

The lounge’s extensive cocktail program hinges on “efficient mixology,” meaning drinks will be excellent but won’t take 15 minutes to make. Chef Sterling Robinson (of Billy’s Inn and the forthcoming North County) consulted on a menu plush with cheese and charcuterie boards, snow crab claw and shrimp cocktail, and popcorn with pink sea salt and truffle butter. DJs will spin beats that are in keeping with the upscale vibe (i.e. no hip-hop).

The Crimson Room opens at 7:30 p.m. on December 5 with a charity bash benefiting Bright Pink, a national nonprofit dedicated to early detection of breast and ovarian cancer. Tickets run $75 to $400; 75 percent of the proceeds go directly to Bright Pink. Doors open to the public at 10 p.m.
