With a simple flip of a switch, Denver’s Union Station is all dressed up for the holidays. Last Friday, as a part of the Grand Illumination ceremony, downtown’s newly renovated historic building was illuminated with red and green lights, while a 35-foot Douglas fir sparkled in front of the station. Other places that were lit during the annual ceremony include the Denver City and County building, the 16th Street Mall, and 14th Street. Despite a mild start to December, a nighttime stroll past these landmarks will convince you that the holiday season has indeed begun.
