Dec. 4 Chautauqua Film Series: Watershed
Boulder’s iconic institution at the base of the Flatirons brings Robert Redford’s documentary about the Colorado River and threats it faces to the Front Range.

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs has been brightening up the holidays by placing colorful light sculptures (and warming fires!) throughout the zoo for 24 years. This year you’ll find more than 40.

Dec. 6, 7, 13, & 14 Georgetown Christmas Market
One of our favorite quaint little mountain towns turns into a village fit for the North Pole for two weekends in December. Besides plenty of goodies to put under the tree, you’ll also find horse-drawn wagon rides, roasted chestnuts, and Ole St. Nick himself.

Dec. 11–14 Winter Dew Tour Mountain Championships
The high-flying snowboarding and free-skiing competition returns to Breckenridge for the seventh straight year with a concert by electronic music sensations The Chainsmokers and The Knocks.

Dec. 12 Fort Collins Festivus*
This Denver beer and music festival expands to FoCo this year with pourings from a dozen or so local craft brewers and tunes by the likes of local favorites The Yawpers and Smokestack Relics.

*Editor’s note 12/8/14: The Fort Collins Festivus event has been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances, and will be rescheduled in early 2015 at a new location.
