Don’t Miss: Gregory Alan Isakov’s 2015 Tour

|

Some breakthroughs happen instantly, others take a while. After honing his craft for more than a decade, Boulder-based singer-songwriter Gregory Alan Isakov has been enjoying some extra bright limelight recently. He’ll punctuate his heightened level of fame in early 2015 with a headlining American tour that will see him play some of our most venerable venues in support and celebration of his acclaimed 2013 release, The Weatherman.

Isakov’s 25-gig schedule launches January 15 in Omaha and concludes with a homecoming show at Denver’s Ogden Theatre on March 5. Longtime local favorite Nathaniel Rateliff opens for him on the first half-dozen dates. Mandolin Orange, a folk duo from North Carolina, opens the Ogden show, and one highlight of the tour will undoubtedly come on February 17, when he’ll be accompanied by the Seattle Symphony.

The musical veteran’s languid, waltz-y storytelling style has evoked comparisons to Leonard Cohen and Bruce Springsteen, and The Weatherman was widely seen as his most accomplished and mature work to date. In concert he commands rapt attention despite—or because of—the soft stillness of his voice and instrumentation, making his shows a must-see. So check out his tour dates here and tell your out-of-town friends to get their tickets now.
