Many Coloradans took their first powder turns of the season over the last couple weeks. But fashionistas have another, less snowy, reason to celebrate: Colorado’s high-country towns are serving up some of the best fashion in the state. Check out this sampling of openings, events, and new lines coming to Aspen and Vail.

ASPEN

Now Open: The latest boutique to join Aspen’s shopping scene is New York City-based multi-brand retailer Intermix. The Aspen location, which opened November 24, will carry the store’s signature blend of on-trend contemporary and premier lines, such as Barbara Bui’s multicultural designs, sexy and ornate stilettos by Aquazzura, and the bold yet feminine styles of Cushnie et Ochs. Although the fashion may be more big city than ski resort, the store’s “chill luxe” interior (as Intermix execs describe it) is inspired by the town itself, featuring distressed wood wall paneling, reclaimed wood flooring, perforated leather tables, and blackened steel-finished clothing fixtures. To celebrate the opening, Intermix collaborated with two Colorado talents. Glenwood Springs contemporary artist Andrew Roberts-Gray designed several products for the store, including custom Icelantic skis (pictured; $1,350) as well as an exclusive tote bag. Also look for a two-toned limited-edition scarf by Denver-based Donni Charm, available in camel and black and camel and heather gray. 428 E. Hyman Ave., Aspen, 970-925-2288

New Jewelery Line: This season, renowned Aspen store Pitkin County Dry Goods will have the bauble-obsessed lining up to get their hands on the EF Collection. An editor and celebrity favorite (from Gwen Stefani to Lupita Nyong’o), designer Emily Faith’s line combines delicate and feminine styles with clean, modern lines. The 14-karat gold jewelry collection is hand-set with white, black, and champagne diamonds. My personal favorite: the floating mini multi-bezel set diamond ear cuff (pictured; $495 each) in 14-karat rose gold with 0.22 total carat weight of diamonds. 520 E. Cooper Ave., Aspen, 970-925-1681

More Shiny Things: Also new to Aspen—and, surprise, it’s yet another celebrity favorite (model Joan Smalls is a fan)—is Graziela Gems, which launches at luxury boutique Palaso. Brazilian-born designer Graziela creates jewels that span from clean-lined and contemporary to larger and vintage-inspired. My pick: The peau d’ange deco ring (pictured; $2,200), featuring peau d’ange coral and champagne diamonds set in sterling silver plated in 18-karat yellow gold, which is a bold (and, admittedly, pricey) statement piece. 205 Mill St., Suite 107, Aspen, 970-429-8529

Colorado Jewels: For a local spin, check out Colorado-based line Aspen True. Created by Jacqueline Lampert, the collection is inspired by the rugged, natural imperfections of her native South Africa (Lampert is from Johannesburg) and the shape, form, and color of the Colorado Rockies, her home for the past 12 years. Lampert’s collection incorporates precious metals such as sterling silver and 14-karat gold along with hand-selected raw gemstones that are uniquely shaped and accented with diamonds. Her Limpopo collection (pictured; $495 to $575) is a perfect example of Lampert’s glamorous yet approachable work: featuring gemstones as varied as labradorite, raw pink and blue sapphires, garnet, and tanzanite, these necklaces are easily worn day or night.
