Colorado Paragliding Season Begins
Golden’s Colorado Paragliding launches its season at Lookout Mountain with tandem flights for $169 per person (adrenaline rush and face-splitting grin included).

April 4 | Breckenridge Spring Fever
Twenty bucks gets you all the chili you can eat from local chefs competing in Breck’s fourth annual Spring Fever Breck Beer & Chili Cook-Off—plus one vote for your favorite. A week later, Third Eye Blind spices things up as the kickoff performance for the Spring Fever Bud Light Concert Series on April 11, followed by Eric Paslay (April 12), American Authors (April 18), and The Infamous Stringdusters (April 19).

April 8 to 11 | Taste of Vail
The Debut of 2014 Rosé, an event featuring samples of 100 just-released rosés, kicks off Vail’s 25th annual food festival. Other can’t-miss events: The American Lamb Cook-Off & Aprés-Ski Tasting (April 9), the Mountain Top Picnic (April 10), and the Grand Tasting and Auction (April 11).

April 17 to 18 | Fruita’s Rumble at 18 Road
Amateur cyclists and runners can take on the pros at this Fruita event, now in its fourth year. Choose from trail running, short-track mountain biking, or cross country mountain biking ($19 per race), and test your mettle against some of the best.

April 18 to 19 | Rocky Mountain National Park Is Free
Colorado’s 100-year-old gem offers free entrance as part of the National Park Service’s “Fee Free Dates” program. Take advantage, because the next one isn’t until August.
