Bridal Couture on the Cheap

This Centennial shop brings high bridal fashion to the masses.

By |

Some things never change, like a bride’s desire to go big with her dress—even if her budget is tiny. Fortunately, Barbara Raskin Myers can help. In March, the former Brides magazine marketing director opened Compleat Couture. The Centennial shop houses more than 1,000 wedding dresses (the majority worn exclusively on the runway or not at all) at less than half of their typical prices. The gowns—from size 0 to 30—by designers such as Kenneth Pool, Monique Lhuillier, and Vera Wang, are donated by labels and design houses. The money raised through sales benefits the James Resource Network, a local nonprofit that provides transitional housing and educational support programs to single-parent families. Yes, your wedding is about you, but your dress purchase can make a difference for others.
