May 8 to 10 | Mother’s Day Victorian High Tea
There’s high tea and then there’s really high tea—like at 8,530 feet in Georgetown. Savor yummy baked goods, soup and fruit, and 30 varieties of tea at the Dusty Rose Tearoom this weekend. Moms get to take home a hand-made gift.

May Weekend Plans: Happenings from Around the Region

Beer festivals, film festivals, and an exciting new obstacle course race comes to Denver this summer. Plus: Stay in Aspen for less than $100.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR
May 17–18 Indian Market and Powwow
This annual celebration at Morrison’s Tesoro Cultural Center, now in its 14th year, features native Southwest art, music, cuisine, and dance.

May 23–26 Mountainfilm in Telluride
One of the country’s longest-running film festivals includes an impressive panel of speakers this year, among them author Cheryl Strayed, National Geographic explorer Juan Martinez, climber Alex Honnold, and alpinist Conrad Anker.

May 25 Festival of Brewpubs
Beer festival season is officially upon us and Arapahoe Basin’s 13th annual Festival of Brewpubs marks one of the first celebrations. Taste beer from a dozen Colorado breweries while enjoying live music and prime people watching.

May 31 Insane Inflatable 5K
If you’re not quite up for Warrior Dash, Tough Mudder, or one of the other many “extreme” races, but still want the fun and camaraderie that comes with an obstacle course event, the Insane Inflatable 5K might be for you. The untimed run, held at Dick’s Sporting Good Park, includes 12 obstacles over the course of the three-mile run from dodging giant balls rolled at you to careening down a steep inflatable slide, catching air, and landing on a giant inflatable pad.
