Colorado Rapids Food Drive: Grab the canned goods hiding in your pantry and head down to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park this week to help families in need (while watching some world-class soccer). The Rapids are hosting a Food Drive to Kick Hunger at their match against the Houston Dynamo as part of a season-long partnership with the Food Bank of the Rockies and Ardent Mills. Your donation of non-perishable food items will not only help a family in need, but also earn you a special ticket offer for a future Rapids match. Wednesday, 7 p.m.; Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, 6000 Victory Way, Commerce City

Pure Barre Fort Collins Sip + Shop: Pure Barre studios across the country have been working with charity partners this month through their Stronger Me, Stronger We campaign. This week, Pure Barre Fort Collins is opening its doors for a night of shopping, wine, and light hors d’oeuvres to benefit its local charity partner, the Fort Collins Sexual Assault Victim Advocate (SAVA) center. Sip wine, enjoy snacks, and browse the studio’s collection of workout clothes, fitness DVDs, and other barre-inspired gear. With 10 percent of the evening’s sales going straight to SAVA, there’s never been a better excuse to shop. Thursday, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Pure Barre Fort Collins, 2948 Council Tree Ave., Suite 119, Fort Collins

Cycle for Life: The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Colorado hosts its fourteenth Cycle for Life this weekend, and it’s a great way to ride for a cause. Riders can register here (individually or as a team) and choose from three course lengths—14, 49, or 65 miles. If you meet your $200 fundraising minimum by ride day, you’ll receive a free Cycle for Life long-sleeved tee; if you raise more than $200 for the Foundation, you’ll be in the running for even more prizes. For those who’d rather not log double-digit bike mileage, worry not: the event needs volunteers, too. Saturday, 6 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.; The Rock Wood Fired Kitchen, 53 Centennial Blvd., Littleton

Dog Days of Summer 5K/10K and 1-Mile Doggy Dash: Enjoy the remaining days of summer with this morning full of pooch-and-human races. With 5K and 10K races for two-legged participants, a one-mile Doggy Dash for you or your four-legged friends, and a Human-Puppy Fun Run, there’s something for every species and skill level at this event. Make sure Fido’s looking sharp, too, for a chance at the Hot Dog award (for the best-dressed dog), the Dawg Dog (for the “coolest”), and a host of others. Proceeds benefit Mile High Lab Mission, which will be hosting an adoption drive. Register here. Sunday, 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.; Central Park, 8801 MLK Jr. Blvd.
