The 5280 Guide to Shopping Locally This Weekend

A highlight of this holiday weekend's worthwhile steals and deals.

While Black Friday often draws shoppers to large chain stores with huge markdowns, we sometimes forget that local shops also provide promotions and discounts during this popular shopping weekend. From Black Friday to Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday, support the local community by shopping at these Denver businesses.

Clothing and accessories:

Goldyn: The Denver-based, fashion-forward boutique will offer 30 percent off all merchandise—including jewelry, which typically never goes on sale—Friday through Monday. If you’re not looking to leave your couch, you can get the same deals online using the code “ALLBLACKEVERYTHING”. Friday through Monday; 2040 W. 30th Ave.

Hailee Grace: Located in Larimer Square, this contemporary women’s boutique will have 20 percent markdowns throughout the entire store—and a mimosa bar all day long (because how else will you get through a full day of shopping?). Friday; 1423 Larimer St.

Clotheshorse Consignment Boutique: Clotheshorse recycles hundreds of clothes and accessories, whether they came from boutique overstock or are consigned from a design-lover’s closet. If you shop on Saturday, you’ll receive $10 off a purchase of $50 or more on non-clearance items, so you can get perfect gifts for a great price. Saturday; 4232 Tennyson St.

Crafts and artisan gifts:

Fancy Tiger sells fabrics, yarns, dyes and other crafting tools for that project that has been sitting on your Pinterest board far too long. Peruse the offerings of dozens of local businesses and craftsmen for unique gifts. 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday; 1701 Wynkoop St.

Light Rail Gallery: The Olde Town Arvada art gallery, in addition to displaying works from several local artists, hosts popular Paint & Sip classes.
