So the whole family came in for the holidays—and they’re sticking around for a few extra days. Need an excuse to get everyone out of the house for a couple hours? Here are nine ideas for where to send them. Caveat: These cultural events sound so great, you may decide to tag along. (Sorry.)

One Man Star Wars Trilogy

You’d have to be living under a rock to not know that a new Star Wars episode released this month. Actor Charlie Ross was certainly paying attention—a lot of attention. The talented performer relies on just his vocal skills (no costumes, no sets) to bring everyone from Princess Leia to Jabba the Hutt to R2-D2 to life on stage. Tuesday, December 29, and Wednesday, December 30, 7:30 p.m.; Lone Tree Arts Center, 10075 Commons St., Lone Tree; $33–$46

Rhythmic Circus

Hitting the ski slopes during the day? Keep your energy up for this hard-hitting Minneapolis group’s latest show, Feet Don’t Fail Me Now!, which combines high-energy tap dancing with live rock music. Your kids will be particularly enthralled with “the human beatbox.” Wednesday, December 30, 6:30 p.m.; Vilar Performing Arts Center, 68 Avondale Ln., Beaver Creek; $48 (adults), $28 (children)

Sherlock: The Abominable Bride

Benedict Cumberbatch is having a moment (many moments, really). And he’s starting off 2016 in the spotlight once again with Sherlock: The Abominable Bride, a feature-length special episode of the BBC series. The great news: This screening is free. The not-as-great news: Seats are first-come, first-serve. Friday, January 1, 7 p.m.; Sie FilmCenter, 2510 E. Colfax Ave.; free

Devotchka

We’ve sung the praises of local gypsy-rock band Devotchka time and again. It’s about time you experienced the group’s unique sound for yourself. (Heads up: The shows are 16 and older, and the NYE event is already sold out.) Friday, January 1, and Saturday, January 2, 9 p.m.; Bluebird Theater, 3317 E. Colfax Ave.; $25–$29.50

Repeat/Recreate: Clyfford Still’s “Replicas”

You never need an excuse to visit the captivating Clyfford Still Museum, but the staff is giving you one anyway: Through Wednesday, December 30, admission is free from 5 to 8 p.m. during extended holiday hours. (A gratis, guided tour will also be held each evening at 6:30 p.m., no reservation required.) Use that time to meander through a selection of Still’s works exhibited as pairs; you’ll leave with a deeper understanding of this solitary abstract expressionist. Through Sunday, January 10; Clyfford Still Museum, 1250 Bannock St.; $10 (after December 30)

Hue Is Full / A Thousand Faces

California-based artist Vincent Xeus transforms cultural icons—including the “Mona Lisa”—using his abstract, imaginative style in this solo exhibition of more than two dozen new works. Through Saturday, January 16; Gallery 1261, 1261 Delaware St.; free

Through Sunday, February 7; Denver Art Museum, 100 W. 14th Ave. Pkwy.; $16

Anderson & Low: City of Mines

Get to know the Colorado town of Victor (the “City of Mines”) through the lenses of London-based photographers Jonathan Anderson and Edwin Low. The selection of 36 photos range from breathtaking landscapes to intimate architectural shots, contrasting modern times with historical disrepair. Through Sunday, February 14; Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, 30 W. Dale St., Colorado Springs; $12–$18.50 (kids 12 and younger are free with parent or guardian)

Murder For Two

Ever heard of a “murder mystery musical comedy?” We hadn’t either, but this two-man, off-Broadway show is a hoot. Read our review before you go. Through Saturday, February 27, times vary; Garner Galleria Theatre, 1101 13th St.; tickets start at $39
