Denver is a funny place. No, really. We’re funny. We’ve got comedians such as T.J. Miller starring on TV (HBO’s Silicon Valley) and in movies (this month’s Deadpool) and national acts like Dave Chappelle playing to sold-out crowds at downtown’s Comedy Works. And our hilarity continues on February 11 with the premiere of Those Who Can’t, the cable station truTV’s first entirely scripted show. Developed by the Grawlix—the Denver trio of Ben Roy, Andrew Orvedahl, and Adam Cayton-Holland (pictured, left to right)—Those Who Can’t centers on three less-than-stellar teachers at the fictional Smoot High School in actual Denver. Although the show was largely filmed in Los Angeles, the Grawlix hope to shoot more of season two—truTV has already picked it up—in the Mile High City. Which would be nice because, as the Grawlix told us during a winter snowstorm in Colorado, making LA weather appear “shittier” is a real hassle.
