Causes to Care About

The Action Center: This local nonprofit provides support and self-sufficiency resources for Jefferson County residents and the homeless. This summer, the center encourages members of the community to donate school supplies like folders, scissors, and spiral notebooks to help students in the Jefferson County School District—where there were 2,756 students without homes last year—prepare for the upcoming school year.
