Denver’s Hippest Dining Nook

Striped wallpaper makes a big splash in this small eating area.

Contemplating a bold design move? This hip dining nook by Denver’s Duet Design Group might just prompt you to go for it. The space is an unexpected riff on classic design with oversize-stripe wallpaper by Harlequin (Tunturi from the Landscapes collection). Add in the geometric Mercana mirrors, funky patterned throw pillows, and Zuo Modern furniture, and you get high style in the compact eating area. Duet Design principal Devon Tobin, who pulled the room together for a model unit in Denver’s Midtown development (15 minutes north of LoDo), says she designed the nook to be “eclectically modern” for the young, first-time homebuyer. “We wanted it to feel attainable,” she says, “but memorable.”
