We can all agree that Denver is a place worth celebrating. So it’s not surprising that local artists would create pieces to honor the city. Enter It’s Your Town, a national event put on by New Amsterdam Spirits Company that showcases original works inspired by artists’ hometowns. Here in Denver, Jaime Molina and Mike Graves collaborated to paint a large-scale mural entitled “Parade of Homies” (pictured, above) on the exterior of Price Davis Studios in RiNo.

This is the arists’ first collaboration together: Both have playful styles and use characters in their own personal works. Over the course of eight days and roughly 80 hours, Molina and Graves pieced together the mural, depicting many diverse characters that represent Denver. A character at a food cart is a nod toward our budding food scene, while the musician represents City Park Jazz.

Artwork related to the mural will be on display in Price Davis Studios (3114 Larimer Street) Saturday, August 6, from 6–9 p.m., along with original pieces by both artists, which will be available for purchase. The event is open to the public.
