ModCloth Pop-Up

Open: August 12 through September 5

Go Here For: A curated selection of ModCloth’s vintage-inspired women’s dresses, denim, and T-shirts, as well as accessories, jewelry, home decor, and more. The special event also includes offerings from local businesses, including needle-working kits from Fancy Tiger Crafts, picture frames by Craftbelly Paper & Pattern, and Coloradical tees.

Why You Should Stop By: ModCloth prides itself on being able to fit a variety of body types, meaning ladies of any size can feel comfortable shopping here. (If you need some wardrobe guidance, book an appointment with a stylist through the website.) Even better: The Denver pop-up—which will also host three live music events—will be stocked with some products that aren’t available online.

5280 Pick: Plaid, the Western essential, is totally on-trend for Fall 2016. Make an outfit of it (pictured, top) with the Downeast Basics denim jacket ($59.99), Staccato plaid top ($49.99), Trip NYC plaid pants ($79.99), and Danner boots ($359.99)

If You Go: 180 Clayton Lane, modcloth.com; Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Ball and Buck x Danner Pop-Up

Open: Through September 6

Go Here For: Boston-based outdoor brand Ball and Buck brought its entire collection of gear for the “sporting gentleman” to town for a monthlong pop-up. Find everything from B&B’s signature Hunter Shirt to survival tools and grooming essentials, plus co-host American heritage brand Danner‘s iconic hiking and hunting boots. Local brands, such as Colorado watch brand Vortic and furniture designer Laura Kishimoto (who created a handcrafted rowboat for the shop), will also make appearances.

Why You Should Stop By: Ball and Buck isn’t carried by any store out West, so this is your chance to check out the stylish outdoor gear in person. The company’s focus on quality American craftsmanship—every product is made in the United States—is just a bonus.

5280 Pick: Ball and Buck’s The Angler Shirt ($168, pictured), which incorporates the Versa Fly Patch System to keep your fishing flies safe when you’re not on the water.

If You Go: 110 Clayton Lane, ballandbuck.com; Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Northern Grade Pop-Up

Open: August 13 and 14

Go Here For: Co-hosted by Armitage & McMillan and the Denver Flea, Northern Grade is a well-regarded NYC-based store and pop-up market featuring American-made products from national and local brands. The Denver event’s lineup includes vintage barware by ManReady Mercantile, handmade denim shirts from Stock Mfg, Throne Watches‘ vintage timepieces and handmade leather straps, leather goods by Merchant Leather and Winter Session, and shirts from Ratio Clothing.

Why You Should Stop By: Northern Grade founders Mark and Katherine McMillan are known for having their fingers on the pulse of what’s fresh in menswear. In addition to their own label—Pierrepont Hicks (hello, snazzy shoes and ties)—NG focuses on small-batch brands and makers just starting to get buzz in the made-in-the-USA world.

5280 Pick: Bridge & Boro’s handmade Slim Selvedge jeans ($150, pictured).

If You Go: Thatcher Fountain, City Park (East 17th Avenue and City Park Esplanade); Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Fabletics

Opening: August 20

Go Here For: Actress and co-founder Kate Hudson’s label offers stylish, high-performance workout clothing—and active lifestyle items like cutout tank tops—at an affordable price.

Why You Should Stop By: Because now you can actually try on the clothes before you buy. Fabletics started as an online subscription e-tailer in 2013. The brick-and-mortar (Denver’s is the 11th in the country) extends the shopping experience for everyone—no more deciding whether or not the VIP experience is worth it for you—by offering special goodies like free shipping from the warehouse on out-of-stock items and in-store fitting appointments. (VIPs will be happy to know they still receive their member discount.) Bonus: All purchases made during opening weekend are 20 percent off.

5280 Pick: Show off your gams in a throw-on-and-go Joel Romper ($49.95, pictured).

If You Go: Cherry Creek Shopping Center, 3000 E. First Ave., 720-210-5716, fabletics.com

Lore

Opening: August 26

Go Here For: A unique array of small-scale, high-quality designers and craftsmen from all over the world. Think: Wardrobe basics in natural fabrics by Emerson Fry (New Hampshire), Animal Handmade’s distinctive leather clutches and pouches (Denver), and skincare oils by F. Miller (Canada).

Why You Should Stop By: Owners Alex Ladue and Kiley Clippinger both have a great eye for streamlined, modern silhouettes with an international twist. But their new space isn’t just for shopping. Ladue and Clippinger will host classes on a variety of topics, such as the art of tea making or herbal drying, and collaborations with local Denver food blogger The Fond Life and Brightside floral design studio.

5280 Pick: Handmade sunglasses by fashion-forward, New Orleans-based Krewe; we’re fans of the St. Louis in matte black ($235, pictured).
