The Mile High City’s premier film festival is back for the 38th year with more than 200 films plus exclusive parties. Accessory (A Gun Fad), November 4 to December 4

This thoughtful group exhibition examines the issue of gun violence in America. Featuring eight artists working across multiple mediums, the display interrogates contemporary views of gun violence by examining personal experiences, international relations, and the Black Lives Matter movement. Browse the gallery to view photographs, sculptures, and textile and ceramic works all offering different interpretations of our modern-day gun culture. Amy Schumer, November 5

The boundary-pushing comedian-actress-writer-producer brings all her talents to the table in her popular Comedy Central television series, Inside Amy Schumer. The Train Wreck star’s provocative—and often wicked—wit is on display again in her standup tour as she explores her usual cadre of topics: sex, relationships, love, and the weirdness of being an adult(ish) person right now. Fly Fishing Rendezvous, November 5 to November 6

Whether you’re a seasoned angler or a greenhorn fisherman, Denver’s top fly-fishing event has the classes and gear to help you catch more fish and spend less time getting soggy in your waders. Learn how to fish for trophy trout with professional guide Adam Beede, and take fly-making lessons from a panel of nine professional tyers. La Fanicuella Del West, November 5 to November 13

The famed Italian composer Giacomo Puccini reportedly believed this opera to be his best work. Now spun in a new direction, this retelling of Girl of The Golden West places the story’s heroine, Millie, in the middle of an 1850s Gold Rush town right here in Colorado. Fun-loving, saloon-owning Millie, played by soprano Melissa Citro, still falls for a mysterious newcomer, and antics (including poker games, visits from the Pony Express, and plenty of tussles with bandits) ensue.
