When the Regional’s Kevin Grossi approached Tristan Chan of Ratio Beerworks about collaborating on a beer dinner, Chan decided to create an epic experience that guests would remember. So attendees can completely immerse themselves in the pleasures of farm-to-table fare, craft beer, and community, Chan and Grossi focused on collaborating with local businesses and nonprofits, including the GrowHaus, the Infinite Monkey Theorem, and eTuk Denver. “It’s not just another beer dinner,” says Chan. “It’s an interactive, immersive experience, and it’s a great way for us to incorporate neighborhood organizations that are doing really great things in the community.”

The dinner, which takes place on January 15, will begin at the GrowHaus, a nonprofit greenhouse, where guests will learn about the urban farm and market program and pick the vegetables that will be used in the first course of the dinner. They will then be transported to Ratio Beerworks by the eTuk, a transportation company offering complimentary rides in their fully electric, three-wheeled tuk tuk vehicles.

After crafting the first course (a salad made with baby red romaine lettuce, Avalanche Cheese Company’s goat cheddar, Brussels sprouts, and a red beet dressing), guests will sit back and relax while the team from the Regional prepares the remainder of the meal. Following courses include Laughing Bird shrimp served with bacon and remoulade and paired with the Dear You French saison; heritage chicken with adsuki beans and mustard greens with the Rented World session IPA; and braised lamb shoulder with grits and a Hold Steady Scotch ale.

Tickets for the event, which goes from 3-7 p.m., can be found here and are a suggested $75 donation. All proceeds will benefit the GrowHaus’ programs, which provide healthy foods and educational services to residents of the Elyria-Swansea neighborhood.
