Downtown Denver’s beloved La Loma is taking a (short) break from the Tex-Mex eats it’s known for and opening an entirely new concept in Lone Tree: Sierra starts serving lunch and dinner today, Friday, December 15.

Sierra will serve American classics with, of course, some hints of the Southwest. Many of the recipes are derived from  family recipes. Highlights include beer-marinated Killer Shrimp; West Texas spaghetti (adapted from a dish made by the owner’s grandfather); anything cooked on the custom-made, oak-fired grill, such as the American Wagyu rib roast; and Texas chocolate sheet cake. All of the burger buns, garlic bread, and tortillas will be made in-house.

The menu also boasts a few dishes diners will recognize from La Loma, like the green chile and mini chile rellenos. “People from La Loma are going to go to Sierra,” says Deanna Price, marketing manager for Brinkerhoff Hospitality, “and we wanted to be able to still offer some of those favorites.”

A full bar will be available inside and on the extensive outdoor patio. We have our eye on the My Darling Clementine cocktail, which blends house-made, clementine-infused gin with honey syrup, lemon, and mint.

Sierra is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Reservations are available through Reserve.
