Coffee lovers in Denver’s northwest quadrant should rejoice: Metropolis Coffee is opening a second location at 1661 Central St. in Lower Highland. Owner Brock Workman takes coffee seriously—very seriously. (As part of his 20 years in the industry, he was a partner in Seattle’s legendary Caffé Vita.) At his Golden Triangle shop, he brews Herkimer Coffee beans that are delivered within 24 hours of being roasted.

Workman is far more concerned about craft than he is with volume. To wit: Where Common Grounds‘ downtown shop serves 300 coffee drinks before noon, Metropolis pours an average of 300 a day. The best way to taste that dedication is to order a small cappuccino. It’ll be creamy, beautifully adorned, and perfect.

With construction pending on the new space (which is located a block north of Ale House at Amato’s), Workman hopes to see the new shop open this summer.

Bonus: Also headed to LoHi: Central Bistro.
